A natural disaster as a specific security phenomenon contains a different range of threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia. Depending on the intensity, spatial distribution, and duration of the natural disaster, in addition to the danger to people, material goods, and the environment, it carries with it threats to the socio-political order. When the state authorities, in the conditions of natural disasters, try to adequately organize and manage the system of protection and rescue, in the affected area, there is always an increase in sociopathological phenomena, theft, robberies, violent behavior. The subject of research is the protection of the security of the Republic of Serbia in the conditions of natural disasters, protection from direct consequences of natural disasters and indirect consequences, the existing socio-political system, economic security, and interests of the Republic of Serbia in the region. The paper deals with the typology of security threats in the conditions of natural disasters.
