Katastrofe nesumnjivo pozivaju volontere u pomoć i njihova sveprisutnost u katastrofama nije sporna.
Disasters undoubtedly call on volunteers for help and their ubiquity in disasters is not in dispute. A large number of humane people will come to the scene of the accident in order to help. In the 21st century, millions of people around the world have been affected by the consequences of natural disasters. In global statistical reports, the number of injured, displaced and dead has increased significantly in the last two decades. One of the key principles on which volunteer work is based is that global changes begin with local changes, ie that economic and social development begins at the local level, ie in one's own country, in one's city or village by engaging the local population, or involving them in solving specific problems. social problems. Due to the fact that disasters have become a global threat to human security, today the need for organized volunteer action is more than alarming.
