Abstract

Prirodne katastrofe nastale usled klimatskih promena su sve učestalije i intenzivnije u životu savremenog čoveka. U završnom delu rada govori se o značaju obučavanja građana i primenljivosti različitih načina edukacije, s ciljem podizanja svesti i nivoa pripremljenosti.

Natural disasters caused by climate change are becoming more frequent and intense in the life of modern man. Individual, community and societal response takes place before, during and after disasters. However, not a single natural phenomenon has to be disastrous and have catastrophic consequences if society is aware of the present danger and is prepared to respond. The subject of research in this paper is preparedness for a more effective response to atmospheric disasters. By reviewing domestic and foreign scientific literature, or using the method of content analysis, the author tries to familiarize readers with the concept of preparedness for disasters. In this paper, preparedness is defined in the context of specific hazards. Emphasis is placed on the activities and measures necessary for handling and improving preparedness for disasters caused by droughts, extreme high and low temperatures, as well as stormy winds. The final part of the paper discusses the importance of training citizens and the applicability of different methods of education, intending to raise awareness and the level of preparedness.
